LSA TRAINING DAY SUCCESS

On Saturday, October 1st, Sprint members, Nia IANEVA and Jessica LAMENT, led a training day on working as an AVS for 23 attendees. The training took place at ISP (Thank you, ISP!)

Jessica LAMENT had this to say about the day :

The workshop was a big success! We had 23 participants and there was lots of engagement, discussion, and questions throughout. Some of them were currently working as AVS while others were interested in knowing more about how to be one. There was a mix of people that had worked with different ages across schools.

Maria Larragan hosted us at ISP in a big space that was just right for the workshop. She shared a few photos of the workshop that are attached below.

(We) encouraged (attendees) to go to the website should they need to find a professional or seek help with a family or for a child.

I'd say that it was a success and we've expressed our thanks to Maria and ISP for hosting us. I want to say thank you to all of you for your help to get us across the finish line! It seems like there's more people out there interested in the training.

As you can see from Jessica's comments, the day was a successful one, and attendees were very positive in their feedback. (We have asked the trainees to fill out an evaluation form to see what we can keep, change, or discard.)

Just one example:

"I just wanted to let you know that I spoke to two people today who were raving about how good the training was!!

They felt they learnt lots of practical and interesting information, the presenters were extremely competent and knowledgeable and they would love more input like this. They also said that they felt the training would be equally useful for teachers.

A big thank you to Jessie and Nia for your great work."

Many thanks to Jessica and Nia for representing SPRINT in such a helpful, positive light. Thank you as well to all the other members who helped to make this day such a success!

We will keep you all posted as to when our next LSA/AVS training day will be held !
